I bet you've been wondering what we've been up to. If not, this isn't an important post so go ahead and skip it.

We recently found a school that would be willing to accept Bug into Kindergarten early depending on this next year. With that in mind we are now focused on a new lesson plan.
For our family we do about 30 minutes to an hour of school each day. I only go as long as they are interested and I have two "sections" I teach: One targeted towards Bib's learning and one targeted for Bug's learning.
This is what we do:
Monday- Soccer, Literature
Tuesday- Library Trip, Math
Wednesday- Playgroup, Cutting/Writing
Thursday- Library Trip, Science
Friday- "Book Club", Crafts
We also read every day and the kids love going through the school supplies so there is a lot of spill over too. But this is the general idea.
Here is how I break it down for Bib and Bug. For instance, last week in literature we learned Sight Words. I began by asking what the first letter of each word was (for Bib's growth) and then we learned what the word was (for Bug's growth).
All in all the key is consistency. Bug has learned so much already but I want to practice writing/hand manipulation a lot this year. Also reading skills.
With Bib's my goal is for her to be able to recite all the letters and numbers (1-20) and begin phonics. Fun surprise: She already has perfect pencil grip so that was exciting.
I digress. Basically our plan is to have no lesson plan and wing it with the lessons I already made; Picking and repeating what I know they need to review or stretch their abilities in. It's going to be crazy- but hopefully fun.
Best of luck,
Serena
