2-3 Year Old Christmas Craft

Our second Christmas themed craft was making festive paintings. But how do you do this with generally, uncoordinated 2 year olds? TAPE.

Materials needed:

Canvas board

Painters Tape

Green and Red paint

Paint brushes

Clothes you don't mind getting messy

Instructions:

  1. Use the painters tape to create designs on your board. The mom in charge made a star, tree, and a snowflake. Bug chose the star as you can see.

  2. Make sure the tape is on their tight. Any gaps in between pieces of tape with get paint and may make your painting look a bit off. (Although I love the spotted camouflage look ours came out with).

  3. Have the children use the paint to fill in all the white spaces on the canvas. Note that if you do more than one color you risk the children mixing it into a brown, although that's not necessarily a bad thing.

  4. Let dry and then remove the tape.

  5. Ta-da! You have a beautiful imprint of your design.
