Craft: 2-3 Year Olds

We have had a couple of friends join us this week which has made free play more interesting!

As I said before, we are only going to be posting about crafts and activities from now on since most days are just following the schedule.

Today we did two crafts. Our first craft was Toilet Paper Cloud Binoculars from Buggy and Buddy.

Materials Needed:

Two empty rolls of toilet paper (for each child)

Non-toxic blue paint (try to get washable paint in case it gets on clothes)

Paint brushes

Cotton Balls

Hot Glue Gun

Instructions:

1. Place the paint and paintbrushes in an accessible area on the table.

2. Instruct each child to paint two rolls.

3. Hot glue the two rolls together so they are like binoculars.

4. While the paint is still wet, have the children rip up cotton balls and place them on the rolls. If there isn't enough paint on the rolls, or your paint has dried already, use the hot glue gun to put dabs of glue on while your child sticks the cotton balls on it.

5. Let the paint dry.

6. Use your binoculars to look at the clouds!

Our second craft was coloring on canvas boards. We went to another neighborhood activity where they passed out canvases and crayons. Bug loved coloring on the canvas more than on a piece of paper. Maybe it's a texture thing or maybe it was because there were 30 other kids running around coloring. Either way, he enjoyed it.

When I asked what it was he said it was the "Kerbal Space Program". After some more questioning he explained it was a rocket/spaceship exploding. He's definitely his father's son.
